This was one of the biggest build weeks I've ever had with Solara. We shipped real, structural features and I'm not talking cosmetic updates. These were foundation-reshaping changes:
- A full dashboard that finally gives a clear pulse on the entire recruiting pipeline.
- A deals page that tracks progress, performance, and company-level goals.
- Role-based user permissions so the platform can scale beyond a single admin and support multiple recruiters.
The dashboard alone was a huge lift. The RBAC layer plus goals tracking pushed my brain to its limits. By the end of the week, I needed something lighter just to come up for air. So I added the FAQ and these Founder Notes. Low-tech, simple, honest. Exactly what I needed.
Why These Notes Matter
These notes and the FAQ serve another purpose too: they show the thinking behind all the features. The why behind Solara. They're part of the same through-line as Client Signals, the insights layer, and the candidate discovery tools. All of it is built with one goal: create signal where the traditional recruiting world is full of noise.
The Real Unlock: Tools That Matter
The real unlock this past year has been tools like Replit and ChatGPT. For the first time, I can take everything I've learned as a recruiter, everything I've hated about existing software, everything I've wished existed and just build it. No engineering team. No waiting months for tickets. I can describe exactly what I want, iterate fast, fix things immediately, and watch ideas come to life in hours or days instead of quarters.
It's a complete shift in what's possible for someone who actually understands the job.
The Cost of Speed
That does not mean it has been easy. I have had plenty of late nights, debugging marathons at 3-4am, and moments where I had to force myself to walk away before I fried my brain. But the progress is real. The speed is real. And every feature I ship makes the recruiting experience more transparent, more accurate, and more aligned with how hiring should work.
Why Solara Works
Solara is working because it is built by someone who lives this work. Because the tools now exist to turn experience into product at a pace that would have been impossible even a few years ago. I am not building this in a vacuum. I am building this from the recruiting trenches, where I spend my days working with startups and engineers.
That perspective matters. When you are shipping features that solve real problems, when you are iterating based on direct feedback from founders and engineers, when you are building for the people you actually work with, that is when you create something that genuinely moves the needle.
That is what the past week was about. Signal, sanity, and speed. Three things that feel increasingly rare in software. Solara is built on all of them.
